Homemade NY Style Bagels

Knead it. Eat it. Love it! Good morning— Bagels are everything 😄 Delicious homemade bagels with a perfectly chewy bite : )

It’s bagel time! This is my first time baking homemade bagels. I’m very pleased with the flavors, shape and overall outcome. They kick the store bought brands butts 😋 Add Asiago cheese, sesame seeds, everything seasoning or enjoy it plain.

A helpful tip, prepare a clean work space and have everything ready. You’ll find overnight bagel recipes on-line however, the recipe below is ready to eat the same day 💃

For the bagels:

  • 2 1/4 cups warm water
  • 4 teaspoons liquid honey
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast or use instant yeast
  • 5 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons sea salt

For boiling:

  • 10 cups water
  • 1/4 cup liquid honey

For the egg wash:

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
